Truth
Truth is established for ever.
WitnessA lie
A lie lasts a moment. To stand longer it has to be told again, and it is paid for every time.
WitnessThe house The ledger: V(n+1) = V(n) + R(a·L) G − (1 − R) K. Grace G is always on, and it is received only when the aim lines up with the light (a·L > 0). A lie kept against the light pays K at every step.

The light does not move.

A lie cannot move the light. It can only turn the aim away from it.
FollowsThe house One light, one line: L is fixed. A lie changes the aim a, never L, so all it can do is lower a·L.
