I.Who we are
annotestimonii.com is published by ImaginAItion Productions (“we”), which decides how the information below is used. Our server is in New York, in the United States. To reach us: letters@annotestimonii.com.
II.What we collect, and why
Counting visits, on our own server. Our counter, Umami, runs on our server. For each page view it records the page’s address and title, the site that sent you, your browser, operating system, device, screen size and language, and the country, region and city worked out from your IP address. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. We use it to see which pages are read.
Google Analytics. We also use Google Analytics 4, which receives the page’s address, the site that sent you, your device and browser, and an approximate location. Google’s advertising features are turned off. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets no cookies. Elsewhere it sets two cookies on this site, _ga and _ga_PG6DL450Q0, which last up to two years, so that a returning reader is not counted as new. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Neither counter receives anything after the # in an address, so what you type into the laws of truth and lies never reaches them.
Server logs. Like every web server, ours writes a line for each request: your IP address, the time, the address asked for, your browser, and the page that linked you. We use these lines to keep the site running and secure, and we do not share them.
The email list, only if you join it. Your email address, what you asked to hear about (when the next letter is out, for example), the page you signed up on, and when. We use it only to send what you asked for, and every email carries a link to leave. When you leave, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so that we never write to you again; ask us and we delete it entirely. The list lives on our own server; no mailing-list company holds it. When we email you, the service that delivers the email receives your address to do so. Your IP address is used for a moment to stop abuse of the form, and is never stored.
If you write to us. Your message and your address, kept so that we can answer you. Mail to letters@annotestimonii.com is read first by our AI assistant, which drafts an answer; no answer is sent without a person’s approval.
Support through Ko-fi. Payments happen on Ko-fi, through PayPal or Stripe; we never see your card. Ko-fi passes on what you give it: your name, your email address and any message. We use them to thank you and, where support comes with a pass, to make sure you have it.
On your device. The site keeps one thing in your browser’s storage: your pass to the whole timeline, if you have one, so that it opens next time. Apart from Google Analytics’ cookies above, our pages set no cookies. What you type into the laws of truth and lies stays in your browser; it leaves only if you copy its link and share it.
III.Who else receives something when a page loads
- Google Fonts. The site’s typefaces come from Google, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them. Google receives your IP address and browser details, and only this site’s name, not the page you are reading.
- Google Analytics, as above.
- AI model providers. Our AI assistant runs on models served by Together AI and Groq, which process a letter you send us so that it can be read.
- Ko-fi. The Donate button on every page loads from Ko-fi, and the support page shows Ko-fi’s own form. Ko-fi may set its own cookies when they load, under its own privacy policy.
- The share menu sends nothing until you choose. If you pick a network, it opens that network’s site with the link, and what you post there is under its rules.
The films are served from our own server.
IV.What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent your information. We don’t run ads, and we don’t build profiles of readers. We don’t share the email list with anyone.
V.Your choices and rights
- You can block cookies and scripts in your browser; every page still reads. Google offers an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics everywhere.
- You can leave the email list with the link in any email from it, or by writing to us.
- You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it: letters@annotestimonii.com. We answer within a month.
- In the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we rely on your consent for the email list, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for the server logs and the visit counts. You may object, and you may complain to your data protection authority.
- In California: we do not sell your personal information.
VI.Children
The site is not made for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If a child has joined the email list, write to us and we will delete it.
VII.Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top says when it last did.
