Home › Timeline › The Payment › His legs not broken
The soldiers break the legs of the two beside him and stop at his body.
In plain words
The soldiers break the legs of the two men crucified beside him and, finding him already dead, leave his unbroken. John ties it to the Passover rule that no bone be broken: men running a routine procedure halt at the one body where that rule was written.
The mechanism
THE SPEC PAID BY MEN RUNNING A PROCEDURE — an execution crew halts at the one body where halting was written down as a lamb specification
