The last known monument dated in the Maya Long Count was raised at Toniná in Chiapas for the period ending 10.4.0.0.0, in AD 909; the earliest known Long Count date, from Chiapa de Corzo, is probably 36 BC. By 909 Toniná's power was in decline, though its dynasty outlasted many of its neighbours.
