Why anyone would say yes. Work spreads the income decision across millions of parties who do not coordinate; it is unfair constantly and in every direction, but it has no author, so there is no desk at which your income is set and therefore no desk at which it can be unset. Let enough people no longer earn that way. The decision does not disappear — it relocates. Income comes by rule, and a rule has an author.
In plain words
Speculation, labelled: why anyone would say yes. Today no single desk sets your income, so no desk can unset it; let enough people stop earning that way and income comes by rule, and a rule has an author. Whoever holds the rule holds the switch, without seizing anything.
The mechanism
BABEL APPLIED TO BREAD — not the gathering of speech, the gathering of the decision about who eats. Whoever holds the rule holds the switch, not by seizing it but by occupying the only seat the arrangement created
